Passage protection
Passage protection as high-contrast labelling of glass surfaces
Modern architecture is dominated by transparency. The DIN 18040-2 standard specifies the requirements for doors, windows and large areas of glazing in public spaces. They must be clearly recognisable by means of a high-contrast design. Safety markings must be affixed to large glazed doors and surfaces as anti-passage and anti-impact protection in alternating contrast. Passage protection has the advantage of being able to fulfil various functions, so it serves not only as safety marking and accident prevention, but often also as visual protection, information and signposting.
